It is a great honor for us to invite project manager Yen-Ting Kuo from AX group. Axiom engineering corp. is an environmental protection company, which mainly provides the service of sewage treatment for factories in industrial zones and science parks. Manager Kuo shared about the process of sewage treatment and its principles behind, then he promoted the concept of environmental friendly and sustainable development. He also mentioned his working experience, which is closely related to solving engineering issues. For instance, incineration is a well-developed waste treatment process for over hundreds of years. Yet we can optimize the process to meet current development goals. In terms of the exhaust gas produced when burning the wastes, there are two crucial topics: air pollution and energy production. The exhaust emission must conform with the environmental protection law. One of the potential issues that needs to be dealt with is to reduce the usage of chemical reagents. Moreover, the heat produced during the process can be utilized as the power source of renewable energy production. As there’s still a long way to reach the goal set by Taiwan’s government of achieving the renewable target of 25% by 2025. (now: 7%) Manager Kuo encouraged us to make use of the scientific knowledge on engineering technology. We can save the earth by reducing the harm to our planet.
