Job Description: The primary duties involve building a seed database for native alpine plants and estimating natural carbon sequestration in grasslands. Key tasks include:
- Surveying genetic resources, seed collection, and carbon sink measurement in arrow bamboo and grasslands at Hehuanshan and central mountainous regions.
- Conducting seedling cultivation, propagation, and fertilization.
- Documenting growth morphology of seedlings.
- Assisting with additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, ability to think independently, communicate, and coordinate project activities, and ability to work with a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally; experience with field surveys and valid driver’s license for both car and motorcycle are preferred.
- English proficiency (sufficient for basic communication with international students, reading articles, and participating in meetings); ability to draft preliminary research reports and articles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with preference for backgrounds in agriculture, life sciences, or natural sciences.
Salary: In accordance with NTU’s standard for full-time research assistants (Taroko National Park).
