NTU Life Science/ IEEB Prof. Chun-Neng Wang‘s Lab Seeks Full-Time Research Assistant for National Park Project (Multi-Year Commitment)

Job Description: The primary duties involve building a seed database for native alpine plants and estimating natural carbon sequestration in grasslands. Key tasks include:

  1. Surveying genetic resources, seed collection, and carbon sink measurement in arrow bamboo and grasslands at Hehuanshan and central mountainous regions.
  2. Conducting seedling cultivation, propagation, and fertilization.
  3. Documenting growth morphology of seedlings.
  4. Assisting with additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated enthusiasm, ability to think independently, communicate, and coordinate project activities, and ability to work with a team.
  2. Willingness to travel occasionally; experience with field surveys and valid driver’s license for both car and motorcycle are preferred.
  3. English proficiency (sufficient for basic communication with international students, reading articles, and participating in meetings); ability to draft preliminary research reports and articles.
  4. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with preference for backgrounds in agriculture, life sciences, or natural sciences.

Salary: In accordance with NTU’s standard for full-time research assistants (Taroko National Park).
