The followings are our current research subjects: 1. Process development for producing food-grade glucose solution from rice straws, economic and carbon dioxide emission evaluations. 2. Process development for producing furfural from rice straw derived xylose, economic and carbon dioxide emission evaluations. 3. Direct production of propylene oxide from propylene over Au/TS-1 nano-gold catalysts under oxygen and hydrogen atmospheres. 4. Producing styrene oxide from styrene and hydrogen peroxide in liquid systems. 5. Preparing ultra-low-k (k<2) porous silica films with micro-pores and with strong mechanical strength. 6. Preparing organic/inorganic hybrid anti-corrosion films. 7. Studying effects of surface charges and aluminum loading of zeolites on catalytic properties of nano-gold. 8. Studying water-gas-shift reaction for producing hydrogen over supported nano-gold catalysts.
