An Impact That Transcends Number
Prof. Chun-Che Chang, Director, National Taiwan University Press

Since its founding almost a century ago, National Taiwan University (NTU) has witnessed many shifts in the cultural zeitgeist and upheavals to civilization. With their indomitable spirit, NTU’s students and faculty have continued, despite these societal shakeups, to drive innovation, achieve breakthroughs, and make profound contributions across various academic fields. The academic strength and vitality exhibited by NTU has attracted international attention.

In this issue, we invited members of the NTU Press, Office of Research and Development, Office of Academic Affairs, and Office of International Affairs to share how their respective departments are impacting the world. Through this issue, readers will better understand the specific role of each department, and that despite their differing roles, they each leverage their professionalism and care to make an impact. Readers may also be interested in the data collated to better understand the growth in the work undertaken by each department. However, we hope you will pay special attention to the dedication behind each department’s work, and how they have utilized creativity to achieve a long-lasting impact.

The impact of goodness is a palpable positive force. NTU aspires for this force to endure into its next century. We firmly believe that education is the essence of impact.
