Course Regulation and Compulsory Courses
The graduation credit requirement for the Institute is 33 credits. Each student must complete two core compulsory courses: Mass Communication Theory and Media Law and Ethics, and choose one from Qualitative Research or Communication Research Methods (Quantitative), totaling nine credits. The institute offers two graduation tracks: Professional and Research. Students in both tracks are required to take courses related to journalism practice, reflecting the institute's emphasis on practical journalism skills (Professional track students must take at least three courses totaling nine credits, while Research track students need two courses totaling six credits). Additionally, students in the Professional track must select at least one advanced course based on their chosen journalism specialty, which includes in-depth reporting, video reporting, and multimedia reporting. Research track students must choose three courses related to theoretical studies. For detailed regulations, please refer to the academic guidelines of the Journalism Institute.
