The IBS has maintained close collaboration with the IBC, Academia Sinica, since 1972 and has accomplished significant achievement in Protein Chemistry. Recently, the research fields have expanded to some other fields, such as Molecular and Cellular Biology, Bio-organic Chemistry, Glycobiology and Structural Biology. The IBS has attracted top undergraduate students majoring in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, and Agriculture. The diversified background of these students facilitates the exchange of knowledge from different areas and promotes the development of interdisciplinary researches.
