Application Regulations

1. Purpose: To encourage students to independently explore and learn, we welcome undergraduate students to propose their own general education courses. Students can design the proposed course theme and content. After preliminary approval by the General Education Center, an invitation will be extended to faculty members to teach the course.

2. Eligibility: Undergraduate students at National Taiwan University

3. Application Process:

• Stage One - Students submit the self-proposed general education course form (from now until May 25).

• Stage Two - Preliminary approval by the General Education Center (May 25 to June 16, 2023).

• Stage Three - Invitation to full-time and part-time faculty members to teach the course by the Center (June 16 to August 15, 2023).

• Stage Four - New general education courses are taught after approval by the Center and the faculty member's department (August 15 to mid-December 2023).

4. Key Points for Application Evaluation:

【Mandatory Conditions】

• Whether similar courses have been offered in the university.
• Alignment with the spirit of the university's eight general education domains. ​​

【Bonus Conditions】

• Course designs involving hands-on experience, practical work, action research, or case studies.
• Courses related to media literacy or information interpretation.
• Courses related to digital literacy. Courses related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Courses that combine different general education domains.
