Retention of Admission 

  1. Legal basis: National Taiwan University Academic Regulations (Article 8).
  2. Administration unit: Undergraduate Academic Affairs Division.
  3. Application period: Before registration (Fall semester: July 15th to August 20th / Spring semester: Jan 2nd to Jan 31th for graduate students)
  4. Key summary: Students can apply for retain admission while facing special circumstances such as illness with long-term treatment, low-income, military service, pregnancy, overseas or international student status.

Re-enrollment of Admission

  1. Administration unit: Graduate Academic Affairs Division
  2. Application period: From the starting date of the semester as specified in NTU Academic Calendar to any date before the scheduled course starting date.
  3. Key summary: Students who have been approved to retain admission status must submit the admission application on their own before the expiry period. Failure to do so will result in the deprivation of admission status.

Leave of Absence

  1. Legal basis: National Taiwan University Academic Regulations.
  2. Administration unit: Graduate Academic Affairs Division , Branch Office of Academic Affairs in the College of Medicine.
  3. Application period:
    1. Leave of absence can be requested after registration and before the final exam
    2. Fall Semester: from July 15; Spring Semester: from February 1
  4. Key summary: If extension is required due to severe illness or special circumstances, a maximum extension of two academic years may be approved by the department chair and the academic affairs division. Should other special factors be reported to and approved by the vice president for academic affairs, an additional extension of two academic years may be granted.

Information about Withdrawal

  1. Legal basis: National Taiwan University Academic Regulations(Article 27, 28, 75).
  2. Administration unit: Graduate Academic Affairs Division , Branch Office of Academic Affairs in the College of Medicine.
  3. Causes:
    1. Students whose number of credits for failed courses in a semester reaches half of the total credits taken during that semester and exceeds one-third of the next semester's total credits.
    2. Overseas Chinese students, Hong Kong and Macau students, Mainland Chinese students, foreign students, Mongolian and Tibetan students who studied abroad before, indeginious students, students from outlying islands, Hope students (including applicants from the Hope Admission Scheme), and children of overseas personnel whose number of credits for failed courses in a semester reaches two-thirds of the total credits taken during that semester and exceeds one-half of the next semester's total credits.
    3. For other causes, please refer to National Taiwan University Academic Regulations(Article 75).

Withdrawal

  1. Legal basis: National Taiwan University Academic Regulations.
  2. Administration unit: Graduate Academic Affairs Division
  3. Application period: Voluntary Withdrawal can be processed from the course starting date to any date prior to the commencement of final exam each semester as specified on the NTU Academic Calendar.
  4. Involuntary withdrawal:A list of involuntary withdrawal will be generated two months after the start of each semester.
